Turn any idea into an engaging 10-tweet thread that gets shares

Twitter threads are the most powerful content format for building an audience. A great thread can reach millions — but most threads die with zero engagement.
In this recipe, I'll share my process for using Claude to write threads that consistently get 100K+ impressions. The secret isn't just good writing — it's structure.
5 steps to complete this recipe
Not every idea deserves a thread. Good thread topics: Teach something valuable, tell a compelling story, share contrarian insights, break down complex topics, or reveal insider knowledge.
Bad thread topics: General opinions, news reactions (too late), broad topics without specific angle.
Format: [Specific result] + [How they achieved it] or [X lessons] from [specific source]
The best threads come from topics where you have genuine expertise or unique experience. AI helps with structure, but real insights come from you.
Your first tweet determines everything. Use this prompt with Claude:
Prompt: 'Write 5 different hooks for a Twitter thread about [topic]. Each hook should be under 280 characters and use one of these formats: 1) Bold claim + promise, 2) Surprising stat + curiosity gap, 3) Personal story opener, 4) Contrarian take, 5) Question that makes them think.'
Pick the hook that would make YOU stop scrolling.
Write 5 different hooks for a Twitter thread about [YOUR TOP...Test your hook: Would you personally click to read more? If you hesitate, it needs work.
Use this proven structure: Hook (tweet 1) → Context (tweet 2) → Main points (tweets 3-8) → Summary (tweet 9) → CTA (tweet 10)
Prompt for Claude: 'Now write a 10-tweet thread on [topic]. Tweet 1: Use this hook: [your chosen hook]. Tweet 2: Set context and build anticipation. Tweets 3-8: Cover these key points: [list 5-6 main points]. Tweet 9: Summarize the key takeaway. Tweet 10: Call to action (follow, share, or reply). Each tweet must be under 280 characters.'
Every tweet should make sense on its own AND make readers want the next one. End tweets with incomplete thoughts.
Before posting, enhance your thread: Add line breaks for readability. Use numbers and bullet points. Include 1-2 images or visuals. Add a 'save this' moment.
Ask Claude: 'Review this thread and suggest: 1) Where to add line breaks for impact, 2) Which tweet would benefit from an image, 3) How to make the CTA more compelling.'
The best threads have one tweet that gets screenshot and shared. Make sure you have a quotable, standalone insight.
Final checklist: Every tweet under 280 characters? Hook is scroll-stopping? Each tweet ends with curiosity? Typos checked? Posted at optimal time (9am, 12pm, or 6pm in your audience's timezone)?
Post using Twitter's thread feature. Reply to yourself to add each tweet. Engage with early replies to boost the algorithm.
Best times to post: Tuesday-Thursday, 9am or 12pm ET for B2B audiences. Evening for consumer content.
